Heart of the Beholder

Looking deeply into my lover's eyes the firelight, seductive ….not for the sight but for the passion
Listening to the laughter of my little ones their echoing music, delightful ….not for the sound but for the joy
Consuming life’s offerings, bitter and sweet hungry for more rich and complex flavors ….not for the taste but for the wisdom
Inhaling the heady aroma of honeysuckle the delicate fragrance, enchanting ….not for the scent but for the serenity
Caressing my dying mother’s face her skin soft as a newborn's 's cheek ….not for the touch but for the wonder of life
God’s beauty is felt by a loving heart and reflected in a gentle soul ….not just the senses’ perception
